Scribe Estate Mission, Sonoma | 104
The Mission grape was the first European grapevine cultivated in California but has rarely been planted post-Prohibition. It thrived on the SCRIBE Estate in the 1800s from archival records that detail the quality of the Mission wines from their property. In the spirit of curiosity and exploration, they planted two acres of Mission in front of the Hacienda to explore its potential in our era. Two centuries later, this vineyard yields a spirited red wine we like to serve chilled to highlight its bright, spicy fruit and gravelly, rustic tannins.
